Vajpayee, Atal Bihari - Former Prime Minister

Vajpayee Atal Bihari
Atal Bihari Vajpayee or Atal Behari Vajpayee (Hindi: अटल बिहारी वाजपायी) was the thirteenth and sixteenth Prime Minister of India. (notice that he is never referred to as Atal Vajpayee or Atal B. Vajpayee but always as Atal Bihari Vajpayee or slightly varyingly as Atal Behari Vajpayee).
He was the thirteenth prime minister for thirteen days in May 1996. In 1998, he was sworn-in again as the sixteenth prime minister of India.

His bio on Wikipedia puts the 1998 Nuclear tests, the bus journey and the Lahore summit, the Kargil war, the National highways programme amongst the highlights of his Premiership.

Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee was considered so good at foreign policy that non-BJP governments have sent him to the United Nation as India's official representative. His bio on BJP's official site

Former Prime Minister Vajpayee was also a poet, beyond being a politician, journalist. This website ( is it his official site ?) contains some of them
