Somdev Devvarman (aka Somdev Dev Varman) is an Assam-born Indian tennis player
5Feet, 11inched tall Somdev Devvarman is right-handed and plays two-handed backhand. Born on 13 Feb 1985,Somdev's nicknames are Buji and Dev.
On January 8, 2009, he caused a major upset against two-time Chennai Open former champion and (former World no.1) world number 42 Carlos Moya of Spain to storm into quarter-finals of Chennai Open ATP tournament at Chennai ( Madras) India.
Somdev made his Davis Cup Debut in February 2008 against Uzbekistan player D. Istomin in Delhi. Somdev, like many other Indian great tennis player, can also call Chennai his home, considering the time he has spent in Chennai.
