It is Haj season and India has been allotted a quota of 1.1 lakh persons . This quota devolves into states. This year in Uttar Pradesh the number of pilgrims seeking a berth far exceeds the quota for UP.
Hence the State Haj Committee officials are considering a lottery system to allot the berths.
UP has been allotted an additional quota in wake of poor response in the other states. A study into why there has been a sudden excess demand amongst Uttar Pradesh may lead to interesting sociological and political ( if not economic) conclusions.

yes u can go to www.hajcommittee.com then on the right side of the home page of haj committee...where SELECTED PILGRIMS IN QURAH will be written in small font....under news and updates.....click on that ...u will get the confirmed list of the lottery system of different states and also the list of people who r in the waiting list....

on top of home page there is an option of PILGRIM INFORMATION which has a link to QURRAH ENQUIRY....click on it ...
then simply enter your cover number and view the results....
